The Opthalmology Unit deals with the diagnosis and the treatment of complex pathologies which affect entire systems.

Ophthalmology outpatients’ department in Forlì

Urgent services are provided every day at the Ophthalmology Unit from 11 to 12 a.m. and from 5 to 6 p.m. with a urgent request written by the GP or the Casualty doctor. For evident ocular injuries which took place in the previous 12 hours, patients can enter directly the Unit without doctor’s written request, during scheduled hours.

The Ophthalmology hospitalization Unit is at the 1st floor of the Pavilion Vallisneri and it has 4 beds in twin rooms with en-suite bathroom.

Useful information for hospitalization

Hospitalization is decided by the doctor specialist in Ophthalmology, both for URGENT cases, when the patient comes from Casualty or is sent from his/her GP, and for SCHEDULED cases.
The patient must present himself/herself at the Unit in the date of the appointment, fasting if necessary. Please bring the following documents: insurance card (in Italy tessera sanitaria), fiscal code card (in Italy, codice fiscale), valid ID with updated address and any medical document or treatment that is undergoing at the moment of hospitalization.
We do restrict visiting hours so that doctors and nurses can carry out treatment:
-Visiting hours: from Mon. to Sun. from 6.30 to 8.30 a.m.; from 12.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m.; from 6.30 to 8.30 p.m.

Discharge

At the time of discharge patients will receive: -a clinical report with the main information about their hospitalization; -eligible patients can collect the drugs free of charge (with the medical prescription) at the hospital pharmacy located in the Pavilion Morgagni, ground floor (opening hours: from Mon to Fri from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sat from 9 a.m. to 1.30 p.m.).
